Twice last week, before the Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez wedding was called off, Roger Friedman of FoxNews.com was told Ben’s close pals staged an “intervention,” the kind used for addicts, to stop his wedding to J.Lo. As for their post-cancellation dinner at The Ivy, Friedman says their mutual agent, Patrick Whitesell, suggested it as a way of cooling off the press interest that has become so weird and intense. So what took them so long????? Though I have also felt that they did NOT belong it has to be very painful. WHY, WHY, WHY did anybody let it get this far (right down to things already bought and paid for) instead of making it sooner????? It was obvious from the beginning that Ben Affleck could not live this lifestyle AND, I’m sorry, but you don’t separate a man (or a woman) from their close friends. What was it going to be next – HIS MOM????? Sorry, it’s the mom’s that were there for their whole lives taking care of them and encouraging them and just being there for them 24/7.
