Craig Berman of MSNBC weighed in on the somewhat shocking news that Melinda Doolittle, who early on in the finals was the odds on favorite to win ‘American Idol’, was voted off the show last night. That leaves Blake Lewis and Jordin Sparks to vie for the title next week. Berman writes, “Chris Daughtry was the favorite to win last season before his shocking exit and fourth-place finish. He went on to get himself a hit record, and so far has been the most successful of his class. Melinda may well wind up in a similar situation, as the power of the pocketbook may not prove to match the power of the text-messengers.” Read more.
