Bette Midler’s ‘Chapel’ Mocks J.Lo And Britney Spears
The New York Daily News reports Bette Midler joked about Britney Spears’ quickie marriage to childhood pal Jason Alexander at her gig in Toronto last week. Midler introducing herself with, “Hello Toronto! The gay marriage capital of the world!” – sang a mock version of ‘Going to the Chapel’, in front of a montage of celebrity mini-marriages including those of Liza Minnelli and David Gest; Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton; and J.Lo and her two exes, Cris Judd and Ojani Noa. Midler then added: “We were going to show Britney’s marriage, but by the time the photos were developed, it was over!”
