Jay Leno joked during his Tonight Show monologue on Tuesday night, “Last week, the premiere week of ‘American Idol’ got huge ratings, like the biggest — people love watching other people who don’t know how to sing. And a related story, Ashlee Simpson’s concert tour sold out.”
