Billboard’s Mayfield Says Everyone Wants To See Pop Fizzle

The New York Post spoke with charts guru for Billboard magazine Geoff Mayfield who weighed in on the year end album sales figures which saw hit the #3 spot with ‘Celebrity’ shipping 4.4 million units and ’ ‘Britney’ which sold 2.9 million to land at #14. Mayfield said, “Everyone’s anxious to see the pop bubble burst. They don’t sell like they did a year ago – but most acts would like to sell as much as they do.”
