The New York Daily News reports Wednesday night’s two-hour installment of ‘American Idol’, featuring last summer’s auditions in New York City, drew 33.6 million viewers, sustaining the momentum of last week’s record-setting two-day, four-hour premiere. “This year we just felt this show is so freakin’ big, why not,” Preston Beckman, Fox’s head of scheduling, told the Daily News this week.
