A buddy of U2 frontman Bono tells The Chicago Sun-Times the singer is furious with the NFL after the Super Bowl hafltime show where *NSYNC star Justin Timberlake exposed the breast of Janet Jackson. The pal explained how the rock star was rebuffed by the NFL when he asked to perform a song about the AIDS crisis with Jennifer Lopez during halftime. “The NFL didn’t want any controversy … didn’t want to appear to be endorsing anything political or anything considered a ’cause,’” the U2 insider said. “Then they had Janet and Justin… I’d say that controversy is a little worse than anything Bono’s song could have done.”
