Brain Scan Scare For Sick Gareth Gates

News of the World reports Pop Idol runner-up Gareth Gates was rushed to hospital for a brain scan after falling ill within hours of returning home from his tour of Asia and Australia. Doctors feared that the star may have contracted the deadly SARS virus as his temperature soared and he began complaining of severe headaches. “As soon as Gareth arrived he was immediately taken for a brain scan and then he was transferred to a private wing,” a source close to Gates revealed. “Doctors were concerned about his condition and kept him in overnight. They were checking him every hour. The next day his temperature had finally gone down and they let him go home. But he’s been told he has to rest for a while and to contact them immediately if his temperature goes back up.”
