Branch Thought Writing Own Songs Was A Normal Thing

BBC’s Top of the Pops spoke with Michelle Branch and asked about when she discovered her ability to write songs. Branch said, “I guess I never really discovered it because when I was younger I thought that everybody wrote songs and sang. I just thought it was a normal thing. I didn’t really realize it was different until I was about 14. Then I started playing the guitar, writing a lot of songs and playing live shows. And that is when I kinda thought: ‘Hey! My friends in high school aren’t doing this-.”
