Britney And Christina: The Real Sales

Contributed Anonymously:

Christina Aguilera fans and Britney Spears fans will always be at each other’s necks. But coming from someone who doesn’t like either I will be honest and tell everyone the TRUE sales behind each girl. This is for the U.S. and reflects the sales from Billboard/Soundscan and the CD Club you often see in magazines.

Christina Aguilera:
‘Christina Aguilera’
Soundscan: 7.8 million sold (Certified 8x platinum)
CD Club: 860,000
U.S. Total: 8,660,000

‘Mi Reflejo’
Soundscan: 1.2 million (Certified 1x Platinum)
CD Club: 50,000
U.S. Total: 1,250,000

‘My Kind of Christmas’
Soundscan:1 million (Certified 1x platinum)
CD Club: 35,000
U.S. Total: 1,035,000

‘Stripped’
Soundscan: 3,640,000 million sold (Certified 3x platinum)
CD Club: 620,000
U.S. Total: 4,260,000

U.S Total for all: 15,205,000

Britney Spears:
‘…Baby One More Time’
Soundscan: 14.1 million sold (Certified 14x platinum)
CD Club: 1,400,000
U.S. Total: 15,500,000

‘Oops I Did It Again’
Soundscan: 9.4 million sold (Certified 9x platinum)
CD Club: 1,060,000
U.S. Total: 10,460,000

‘Britney’
Soundscan: 4.35 million sold (Certified 4x platinum)
CD Club: 755,000
U.S. Total: 5,105,000

‘In The Zone’
Soundscan: 2,717,926
CD Club: Not yet released to CD Club
U.S. Total: 2,717,926

U.S Total (For all four cds): 33,782,926

Clearly the sales winner is Britney. However in a time where cd sales were down Christina still managed to sell nearly four million copies but is still a few hundred thousand short.
