Britney And Justin Won’t Save Pop, But Christina Could

Whenever releases new stuff, it’s like the pop fix of the moment and the thing to listen to for a minute or so. When the hype dies down, nobody will care about her anymore until she releases another album (IF ‘In the Zone’ doesn’t bomb like I suspect it will). I believe the album will open big due to all the promotion, but after Christmas, how will she last? Will radio support her? Will people continue to care? I highly doubt it. This album will probably sell a little over 2.5 million copies and disappear with a 3x Platinum certification, while albums like ‘Stripped’ and ‘Justified’ will continue to be on the charts.

It’s kind of sad that her boyfriend is a huge star because he mooched off her popularity. If there was no ‘Cry Me A River,’ there would be no ‘, Huge Solo Star,’ because he doesn’t have the musical or vocal talent to make people care. He sells on sex appeal and catchy songs.

Out of all these pop stars, I believe is the only one with true promise to last. I really, honestly feel that she is going to make it and shine above everyone else. She has a long way to go, but I really think she can do it. She’s got the voice and if she’d stop distracting people with her image and tacky fashion sense, she could do a lot more than just pseudo-mature pop. Nobody in her field has released an album quite like ‘Stripped,’ and critics alike have agreed with that statement. I also think it’s sweet justice that she is selling more than Justin and most likely Britney as well. She’s nearing that 3.3 million mark in the US and after over 55 weeks, she is still in the top 100 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart, never dropping out of the top 100.

To have an album last like that when pop music is practically dead in the water, is fantastic. Justin’s album is already out of the top 100. People are figuring out who’s genuine and who isn’t. Justin can work with the hottest rappers and producers and get all this “street cred” from everyone, but still, he cannot outsell Christina (worldwide, forget it, she’s so far ahead that he’ll never catch up). Britney can show off her belly button, wiggle around and sing about the touch of her hand, but she’ll never get the respect or credibility Christina is poised to have. Pop is dead, but Christina Aguilera can save it and make it credible again.

I so f**king agree with this post. I wish the writers of all good articles would not be anonymous. Christina has the TALENT to LIVE ON FOREVER

Another day another crap essay from an idiot Christina fan who can’t stand how much more popular and how many more albums Britney has sold compared to Christina.

This opinion post is so true. Britney is a beautiful girl and a great performer but SHE CANNOT SING and she has NO DEPTH!!!! In The Zone is going to straight BOMB!….. I take that back it’s not going to bomb. It’s going to do great because teens and pre-teens love her and they (and their parents) are going to continue to buy her music. But she can’t ride the teen train forever. Britney’s brand of music isn’t powerful or deep enough for adults to BUY her music. She won’t survive. Christina and Pink will. On another tip, Christina is indeed a great singer, a good performer and a beautiful girl but in all honesty she needs to chill! Her continuous cracks and beefs with other singers(Britney, Beyonce, Pink,) could be the death of her career. After awhile no one will want to work with her. Hope she makes up with everyone before it’s too late.

I love it. Whenever a Christina fan starts talking about talent and respect, Britney’s fans start talking about sales. NKOTB, NSYNC, Vanilla Ice, BSB, & Tiffany were all pop phenoms who sold millions upon millions upon millions. Where are they now? Britney’s sales, like those of the boy bands are mainly attributed to the suburban white girls who buy any fake, TALENTLESS, SOULLESS pop act BMG shoves in their face. These are the same bimbos who look at acts with actual flava and go ‘eww.’ Britney appeals to the lowest common denominator. Who counts Britney as their idol? Hilary Duff. Enough said.

People write these essays just to get reactions-all 3 entertainers has proved their staying power so let it go-Britney will be here for the long run just like everyone doubted Madonna’s staying power-some haters just can’t accept that. they are all 3 talented and here to stay so just live with it.

The NKOTB, Vanilla Ice, Tiffany…They were one album, maybe two album wonders. With only hits from the first album. The reason Britney is continuing w/ her 4th is because the public is still interested in her. (maybe not you) but they are otherwise her label would not put all the capital up to front such an effort. And actually, the guy who posted first was not talking about respect (because your girl obviously has none) but, he brought up sales. And anyone who knows anything , knows that Britney has outsold Christina Aguilera and many other artists. And for the record, Britney appeals across color lines. Again, perhaps not to you but trust I know many diverse people who listen and like her music. Sorry. It’s sad that Christina Aguilera has to stir up controversy for herself by ripping on Britney, Beyonce, Pink, etc…because she fears Britney’s CD will outdo hers. It’s also a shame that Britney has sold more albums than Christina Aguilera, Jessica Simpson and Pink combined. I love Pink too. she has gumption, Christina Aguilera has tackiness

I don’t know why you people are ignoring the fact that Rock your Body and Where is the love was a bigger hit than cry me a river. After hearing all the upcoming project Justin Timberlake is going to make it very far. Probably farther than these artist you just name in your article.

  9. cwaaft says:

That had to have been the dumbest thing I’ve ever read. I understand preferring one artist over another but to base an argument on nothing but fiction just makes Christina’s fans look more ignorant than the already are. Besides, her fans say what she screeches isn’t pop. She’s R & B Hip Hop now, don’t you know.

Can we all please admit that if people made it into Hollywood, that they are good for at least something? Open up your f**king minds and act like you’re older than eleven and a half, to everyone.

First of all, Christina does not see herself as a pop singer, so I don’t know what the F*ck your talking about. Christina is very talented, she has an amazing voice, but that doesn’t always equal staying power. Look at Madonna and Cyndi Lauper. Cyndi had a much better voice, but who’s around today, after 20+ years? Madonna. She’s around because she knows how to market herself, the same thing goes for Britney. People are always interested in Britney, Christina is always in her shadow. And as for Justin, don’t get me started, that’s my boy! Justin is very talented and his album is not pop at all. Out of all the members of the boy bands, he has proven to be the most successful, you are entitled to your own opinion, but whether you like it or not, Britney and Justin will be around 5 or 10 years from now and I think Christina will be around 2. 2 bad for you Justin/Britney haters.
