First off I don’t like to dwell on the past but I have not written about this before and want as many people to know of what went on in the back round and on the stage of the infamous 2003 VMA performance of ‘like a virgin/holiday’ featuring Madonna, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears and Missy Elliot.
It all started when Madonna got attitude and wanted to have the two biggest names in pop bow down to her, Christina and Britney said ‘yes’ to performing with the ‘queen of pop’
Christina now openly regrets doing the performance as she and many of her fans believe that it was a complete embarrassment to her.
There where 3 ‘singers’ (and I use that term loosely and you will see why) in that performance and one rapper.
What was the major difference between Madonna and Britney to Christina (if you didn’t get the hint before) Christina has a voice that is envied by many and apparently to good for Britney and Madonna’s likening.
Before the performance Christina had the knowledge that the piece would go live and what I mean by live is (to all the Britney fans who obviously are not big on live music) when u are on stage and you are singing the noise that comes out of your mouth at that very moment goes into the microphone, played in to speakers and then is heard by your audience – simple enough for you?
But some one else had a different idea, Britney was SECRETLY pre-recording her part of the performance. SO when the telecast came on and the performance started Christina sang live and Britney MIMED (no that’s not her last name although many would say it is, lol)
If that was not enough when Madonna came out of the cake and they where all (supposed to be) singing together Christina’s microphone went off Britney’s pre record stopped and it sounded as if Madonna had the strongest voice. (I don’t think sooo!) Christina was NOT pre warned of any of these things happening, as she has stated.
Now there was further embarrassment, Madonna gave her top hat to Britney and her coat to Christina ‘which do u think has more significance, the top hat’.
Madonna kissed Britney first and (YOU CAN ALL argue about this as much as u like) Madonna knows what camera angles are going to be shot before any of her concert’s – read any of her interviews, she knew that the camera’s would go to JUSTIN Timberlake for a reaction shot for her kiss with Britney and then knowing when she kissed Christina, it would get minimal camera time.
Why did Christina agree to such a performance? Because Madonna WAS one of her idols, poor girl Christina – there is a saying ‘you shouldn’t meet your idols because they will always disappoint’
Christina was duped, cheated and made to be a fool.
Why would such a thing happen it can only come down to jealousy and fear, they did this to her to put her down.
Why do Britney and Madonna want to do such things well what would happen if in that performance Britney sang live and when they where all supposed to be singing together Christina’s microphone wasn’t switched off (with out her knowing that it was going to happen) it would have been FRONT news ‘THE QUEEN OF POP AND HER TALENTLESS FRIEND BRITNEY GOT DROWNED OUT BY CHRISTINA AGUILERA’S VOICE’ and what would that mean for Madonna and Britney? An Embarrassment that no flashing light’s, fire works, stripping or dance routines could help avoid, ——- so if you know that your going to be made a fool of in the future by some one, why not stop that and make them look like the fool for you? —– GET IT!

Wow, like Madonna is afraid of a small fry. Just because you are gifted with the voice doesn’t make you’re the queen of the universe.

Oh please… Madonna was doing promotion for her single Hollywood. Of course she had to be the main singer !
Plus, she kissed Christina’s hand, and then put her hat on Britney’s head and made a movement to get her away…
Madonna does wasn’t to be number one in everything. I am sure she didn’t want to be upstaged by a stronger voice.

THAT IS THE PROBLEM. THE POP INDUSTRY IS ABOUT ICON AND IDOLS. Christina is neither of the two, but sure has the talent. The article is true, the pop industry would never allow to kill their main characters off: the Queen and Princess, when they are such big sellers. If pop was true then they would have turned up Christina’s mic. Christina should have gone Indie years ago. I mean what is Christina? She is just another artist, not a princess or a queen, which is why us fans call her LEGEND. Because in the end,true music will recognize Christina for her talent, and Britney and Madonna for their use and skill in the progression and evolution of the music business…and now we have Gaga…

You can’t prove this without resources and anyway this was BEFORE Britney started lip synching and you can hear her live voice because it’s very distinct.This whole article is very biased and Christina is COMPLETELY dead in the music industry, so you shouldn’t be talking
I believe CHRISTINA IS THE BEST, AND I SAW AND HEARD THE PERFORMANCE, what’s her face was lip singing or trying to sing. Madonna is seriously boring to me, and would need to stage something like that to get quick attention. Christina is doing just fine with Bionic, and Burlesque. Just because some envious individuals say she is not doing well, it does not mean anyone has to believe it. P.S I love you Legend X-TINA.
