Britney Headed Towards #2 In The UK Singles Charts

Contributed by StilettoSadist:

‘Me Against The Music’ is heading towards a #2 position on the UK Singles Chart, with final figures to be published on Sunday. Midweek sales suggest and Madonna are just a little over 2,000 copies behind the #1 selling single, Busted’s ‘Crashed The Wedding’.

Last week’s #1, Kylie Minogue’s ‘Slow’ is currently a distant third, with over 6,000 copies less than Britney and Madonna.

Current Top 3:
1. Busted – Crashed the Wedding (14,467 copies)
2. Britney Spears featuring Madonna – Me Against The Music (12,261 copies)
3. Kylie Minogue – Slow (5907 copies)

In other UK chart news, Kylie’s seventh UK #1 ‘Slow’ has earned her a new record. She now has the longest span between the first #1 and the latest #1 for a solo female artist (‘I Should Be So Lucky’ in February 1988, and ‘Slow’ in November 2003, spanning 15 years and 9 months). Madonna’s previous record span was of 15 years and 1 month (‘Into The Groove’ in July 1985 and ‘Music’ in August 2000). Cher actually holds the record with 33 years and 3 months, but ‘I Got You Babe’ (#1 in August 1965) was a collaboration with Sonny. Her latest #1 was of course ‘Believe’ (October 1998).

Britney is also dominating TRL charts around the world, she has been number 1 in the US and Germany for most of last 2 weeks and was number 2 last week in the British TRL charts behind Busted. For all those bastard Christina fans hoping she would flop it looks like you won’t get your wishes fulfilled. Good luck for Brit and Kylie!

oh at least she is at number 2. I have a question for Britney fans is that song “Touch of my hand” about masturbation? Damn the lyrics are weird, if yes then she definitely went dirrty on this album

Hey fuosto or whatever your face is, how about Christina was number 1 everywhere. And yes number 1 straight in the UK with Dirrty, Beautiful. I don’t know about Fighter and CHUD but it did really well.

Britney definitely is shutting her critics up with this album-all the songs are getting great reviews and it is sure to be a hit when will you haters give up and realize she will be on top forever! lol

Oh, I though the UK hated Britney. They love Christina and hate Britney so much. lol Now what, dumbasses?

  5. jimmypee says:

LMAO can’t even get a #1 with all that hype Christina went to #1 there for two weeks with Dirrty and Beautiful. Britney’s just second rate trash.

My family lives in the UK and Britney’s songs are VERY popular. They love both X-Tina and Britney. I hope Kylie and Britney do a great job with their new albums, good luck to them both!

  7. Fausto-A says:

Yeah Christina fans like to distort the truth and say that Christina is so much more popular than Brit in Europe,,when in fact Brit has still outsold her worldwide and she (Brit) gets plenty of press here. I should know I live in Europe!

  8. SexyGirl22 says:

Who in the hell cares Christina is the best to me and always will be Christina don’t have to worry about anything her voice alone will carry her.

  9. minnie says:

#2 is pretty good, congrats to Britney but just for all you Christina hater’s info, I just checked on and “can’t hold us down” is at #25 on the Billboard 100 after 16 weeks on and “me against the music ” is at 38 after 4 weeks. CHUD is at #10 on the top 40 and MATM is at 17.

  10. perfectly-imperfect says:

Whoo hoo! Keep proving them wrong, Brit! For every pathetic thing you people say about her, she turns around and proves you all wrong. Another slap to the face of all the Christina fans, yes, all 3 of them. lmao…
