Britney Spears And Mother Lynne In Contact By Text Message

‘Access Hollywood’ got some insight on the state of Britney Spears’ relationship with her family at this time. A source tells the show that Britney and her mother Lynne have been in contact a couple times in the last two weeks in wake of Britney’s meltdown and 36-hour hospitalization at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. “It’s always Britney who initiates the contact,” a family source revealed, adding that their communications have been via text message rather than telephone and that Britney often doesn’t follow-up on Lynne’s responses. “Britney’s in more control that way. She’s more comfortable texting because she doesn’t have to listen to her mother. She doesn’t have to listen to anything she doesn’t want to.”

As for her pregnant 16-year-old sister Jamie Lynn, the barrier between the two isn’t as big. “Britney’s more accepting of Jamie Lynn than of parental advice and authority,” the source explained, adding, “[Jamie Lynn’s] no threat to her.”

So what does Lynne think about today’s child custody hearing and the speculation that her 26-year-old daughter will blow it off like countless others? The source said Lynne’s “fears are the same now as they were [before],” and that she doesn’t believe that it “going one way or the other being ideal for the children,” because the issues are “deeper than a court decision for the kids.”
