Beth Kassab of Knight Ridder NASCAR vice president Paul Brooks on their alliance with Britney Spears to debut their first official NASCAR film in 2004. Explaining the decision to cast Spears as the star of the first flick, Brooks said, “She’s a cultural phenomenon who we think can introduce the sport to more and more people.
