Britney Spears recently said in an interview to a magazine from Holland she has been listening to Avril Lavigne’s new single ‘My Happy Ending’ a lot lately. Check out a small transcript from the magazine:
Jesse: Which songs have you been listening at the moment?
Britney Spears: Actually, I can’t stop listening to Jamelia’s ‘Thank you’. And also that new single by Avril Lavigne, ‘My Happy Ending’, that song is really good! I recorded it in a mini-CD which I take in my trips.
Fan Meets Avril Lavigne In Sydney
August 19, 2004 – An Avril fan at the LavigneBandAids.com forum posted details of her meeting with the singer at Channel [V] in Sydney, Australia the other day. Tiffany wrote, “Ok well they came out and sang ‘My Happy Ending’, ‘Sk8er Boi’ and another song which I can’t remember, but I think it was ‘He Wasn’t’, and Avril smiled at me and both her and Evan posed for a photo for me and then they did an interview and then during the break I called out to Avril and she looked over and I asked her if she could sign my UMS booklet… So she looked over the the host that was interviewing her and she asked him if she could go sign and he said yeah sign whatever you want, so she came over to me! And she signed my booklet and then she signed a few other peoples too with my pen lol and then she handed it back to me.” Tiffany added, “Oh yeah and someone yelled out ‘Avril, how’s Deryck [Whibley of Sum 41]?’ and she went red and goes ‘shhh’ lol.”
Avril Lavigne Visits Kyle And Jackie O Show In Australia
August 18, 2004 – While on a promo tour of Australia, Avril dropped into the Kyle and Jackie O radio show on Austereo. Avril discussed her busy schedule, her Christmas plans, she recollected the time Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst tried to hit on her, and her favorite hometown pizza hangout which has become a tourist attraction for Avril fans. The brief interview has since been removed from auspipe.com.
Avril Lavigne Performs For Sydney Students
August 17, 2004 – The Daily Telegraph reports that Avril gave 500 students a performance at Sydney’s Westfields Sports High School, playing some basketball “backstage” before her gig that was met with deafening screams. Todd Avery, 15, said she was the coolest artist on the planet. “She rocks hard, she’s so cool. I want to be her sk8ter boi.” Lavigne plans on returning for a tour in the country in March ’05.
Avril Lavigne’s Got ‘Rock Pits’
August 17, 2004 – Avril fielded questions from readers of Blender magazine, including what would Avril the fragrance smell like. Lavigne responded, “Jägermeister, tequila and cinnamon. And rock pits. When my armpits are sweaty, I call them rock pits, ’cause I rock and roll.”

I hate to admit it but Avril’s CD is pretty good. I downloaded a copy and liked it, so I bought a copy to give her credit. Same for Ashlee Simpson, her’s is pretty good too.
Now this is one of the very few good classy things that Britney does- take the high road when someone cusses her out, I have to give the girl credit where it’s due
Britney is secure enough with herself that she can give props to another female. Then again she is the queen of pop, She’s got no reason to jealous of anyone. BTW, ‘My Happy Ending’ is great, And ‘Nobody’s Home’ is like my anthem. I love Avril Lavigne and Britney equally.

Of course she can’t stop listening to Avril’s song, its amazing, just like the rest of the album. Avril totally blew me away. I loved let go, I listened to it at least one or 2 times every day for like 1,5 years. and I also saw all of your comments about Avril here on popdirt about Avril, that she was a poser blah BLAH BLAH BLAH. you lame retards, you can’t start to like Avril just because she has one good song after hating on her for so long. its hilarious. you obviously couldn’t see talent in her music just because of some stupid magazine ‘interviews’. real music lovers don’t care about how ugly the person is, what they say, what they do..they care about the music. now go kiss your Avril posters.
One talentless artist to the next. Well at least Britney isn’t so obsessed with Avril to talk about her 24/7..and can actually admit she liked her song (god knows why ANYONE would like that horrible pop song is beyond me) unlike Avril who disses Britney all the time and is seen buying her DVD! LOL! Avril cannot sing, and is as fake as Britney. It is so funny when Avril fans are like “Britney can’t sing”….HELLO Avril can’t sing either! She has just as bad of a voice as Britney does. Its so damn funny. Its like a 400 pound man calling a 300 pound man fat. They both suck, and their images are based on lies.
“My happy ending” is the most cheesy pop song ever. It requires NO vocal skills at all. Its just like all of Britney songs, only Avril’s has a guitar in the background…which she wasn’t playing of course. Avril constantly prides herself on being so “rock” but I have yet to hear one damn single of hers be anything but pop. This song takes the cake on the most cheesy typical bland pop song she has had yet.
