Britney Spears & Christina Aguilera: Who Is Stalking Who?
Contributed anonymously:
Ever since Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera came out, they have been compared to each other. Then, those comparisons somehow turned into a competition. Now, it’s an all-out war. The funny thing is, the only ones that aren’t involved in the fighting, are Britney and Xtina themselves.
Now I keep seeing stupid articles and numerous comments about Britney copying Xtina, Xtina copying Britney, or that both of them are copying Madonna.
“Britney signed with Pepsi after Christina signed with Coke!”
“Christina signed with Sketchers after Britney sued them!”
“Britney went topless for a magazine after Christina did! She’s such a copycat!”
“Christina is modeling for Versace after she did a line for Britney. She must be stalking her!”
“Britney is trying to copy Christina’s sexy image.”
“Christina is trying to copy Britney’s sexy image.”
“This person is touring with that person after so-n-so already did. Blah, blah, blah…”
GIVE ME A BREAK!
Some of you here at PopDirt are even stupid enough to post links to pictures of them wearing the same outfit. Many times, it’s an outfit made by a very popular designer, whether it be the white beater with the cross on it (”Britney wore it first!”), or the black top Britney wore on the Q cover (”Christina wore that first!”).
Then some of post links to pics when one of them is in the same pose as the other! Are you kidding me? The topless “back to the camera” pose is a VERY popular pose (Marilyn Monroe and countless others did it before either of these girls were born). The “cover your breasts with your hands/arms/hair” pose is also very popular. (Did anyone think Xtina’s “Stripped” album cover was a copy of Alanis Morissette’s “Thank You” music video?)
How can Britney copy Xtina (or vice versa) when neither of them were the first/only ones to do it? Neither of them have done anything that original.
This may come as a shock to some of you, but your little idols didn’t invent those poses, and they weren’t the ones taking the pictures. They didn’t even make or design the clothes they wear, they pick them off a rack when they get to the photoshoot. And they certainly aren’t the first (or last) to sign a deal with a soda company.
Just because an outfit, pose, or sponsorship deal is the same or similar to another doesn’t mean they are copying them. Both of them have done things similar to the other. It has gone both ways, and I seriously doubt it has been intentional.
So, who is stalking who?… The only ones doing any stalking around here are the fans, and especially, you haters. Because you’re the ones who seem to know about everything these people do, even when you say you hate them. To be a fan is understandable, but some of you haters are downright sick and disturbed. Posting a small handful of pictures doesn’t mean anything, except that you are a very, very sad person.
