MTV News reports Britney Spears’ admission of being single was a joke that later had the singer accept a proposal of marriage from Big Breakfast presenter Richard Bacon, who later staged a mock wedding between the two. After exchanging their “I do’s”, Britney said, “I’m married, mom! Let’s go on our honeymoon. Let’s leave now and go to Vegas, baby!” Bacon wanted to hit a nearby lodge to seal the deal, but Britney sneered, “Um, yeah, OK.” Britney’s handlers nabbed the marriage certificate application after the cameras stopped rolling.
