Britney Spears Didn’t Watch ‘X Factor’ Singers Cover Her Songs
Dan Wootton of News of the World was backstage before Britney Spears danced along to her new single ‘Womanizer’ at the reality siging competition ‘The X Factor’ on Saturday night. Asked if she had watched any of the show’s contestants covering her past hits earlier in the evening while she was in her dressing room, Spears responded, “No”. The show’s chief Simon Cowell looked stunned by the news, but eased the tention by blurting out, “Oh, that’s okay, not to worry.”
As for why Britney lip-synched the performance (something she’s done since performing ‘Oops… I Did It Again’ and ‘Lucky’ live on the ‘Today’ show several years ago), an insider told the British tabloid, “Britney mimed so she could concentrate on her dancing. It was a big occasion for her and she wanted everything to be just right. When she messed up the MTV Awards she was just trying to do too much at once and she vowed never to make that mistake again.” Read more.
