Philadelphia Inquirer music critic Dan DeLuca critiqued Britney Spears’ latest album ‘Britney’ sounding disappointed over her not taking any chances. Dan said, “With legions of teenage fans following, it would be thrilling to watch her dive headlong into adulthood by taking some real risks.” As for risks, DeLuca did credit *NSYNC in their latest effort saying, “Celebrity represented significant progress because, unlike Britney, it dared to take chances. Hiring electronica guru Brian Transeau to produce Timberlake’s ‘Pop’ and mining British underground dance music on JC Chasez’s ‘Up Against the Wall’ were gutsy moves.”
