Fred Shuster of the Los Angeles Daily News reviewed Britney Spears’ sold-out show at Staples Center on Monday, proclaiming it was “awe-inspiring in its lack of appeal on any level.” Shuster explained, “To many, it seemed not to matter that it was obvious from the start that Spears’ vocals and much of the abrasive, one-dimensional music was triggered on a hard drive at the soundboard. Actor-models played the parts of musicians on stage, Spears played the part of a singer, and a half-naked horde of others hoofed it in the background.”
