Britney Spears In ‘Awfully Lame’ Big Screen Debut

Todd McCarthy of Daily Variety reviewed the debut film effort from Britney Spears, ‘Crossroads’, giving it a poor review as has been the prevailing though so far on the film. Todd said, “Tamra Davis’ direction evinces no sense of style, but rather smacks of “coverage” cut together in almost random fashion. Performances are utterly routine, with Spears coming off as blandly appealing at best but exhibiting no special luminosity under admittedly adverse circumstances.”
