Gary Bongiovanni, editor of Pollstar, tells The New York Times that he believed Britney Spears, not tour promoter Clear Channel or the various venues scheduled to host her ‘Onyx Hotel’ tour stops, stood to lose the most money from the cancellation of her North American tour. While many other singers could probably retool a show with no dancing and maybe a tall stool and spotlight for the main attraction, Spears did not have that option. “That’s just never going to work for her fans,” he said. “With her, it’s all about the dancing and the movement.
