Britney Spears Missteps Cause Pepsi To Can Her
Star magazine reports that Britney Spears was upset to learn she had been replaced as Pepsi’s spokesperson by Destiny’s Child star Beyonce Knowles. “Britney’s ticked off,” says an insider. “She heard from some friends at Pepsi that they were replacing her for Beyonce because they wanted someone more family friendly.” Spears’ image has changed since she signed on, notably her negative reactions at the premiere of ‘Crossroads’ in London and in Mexico last year.
Then allegations from former boyfriend Justin Timberlake of *NSYNC that her virgin claims were false caused the cola giant to back away. Spears didn’t help her cause getting caught drinking rival Coca-Cola. “The fact that Britney drinks Coke in private when Pepsi is paying her millions is totally unacceptable,” Dr. Audrey Guskey, professor of marketing at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh explained. “What a stupid thing for her to do!”
