Britney Spears Negotiating Long-Term Vegas Deal

Las Vegas deal maker Jack Wishna tells The Las Vegas Review Journal that mom-to-be is embracing the idea of becoming a resident headliner and non-touring mom like Celine Dion. “The parties are working on a deal that could bring Britney in her own show in Las Vegas by 2007-2008,” Wishna said Saturday by e-mail. Though Wishna wouldn’t identify the property he’s negotiating for, he said he’s representing a “major Strip property.” Wishna added that the same property is negotiating with Madonna that would bring the Material Girl to headline for several weeks at a time.

Even though I think Britney could still do a few on the road tours, I understand why she is considering a Las Vegas show. Out of all the ideas she has come up with over the last 1 year & 8 months as her own manager, this was the best one. Las Vegas & her are a perfect fit. Obviously, she & Kevin love Las Vegas, they have visited there like 4 times so far this year. Everyone should be happy in this situation, Britney can spend more time with her husband & child, & still have the ability to continue focusing on her career. And her fans can still see her live in concert, & Kevin can still sponge off of his wife, it’s a win win situation.

That wouldn’t be a bad idea, at least she can focus on her career and her baby at the same time.

My guess is the Palms, because that’s the only fool, Maloof or whatever his name is, that would EVER do something so desperate!!!! Britney won’t even be remembered then….except as a joke, MAYBE!!! That is ONLY if she’s lucky!!! Oh wait….she’ll still be pulling cheap stunts even then to keep the attention on her!! Too bad they can’t get someone who makes headlines with great music and out of this world talent..

As it should be!!! She has no business on the stage, and she HASN’T since, like,’, ‘1999.

first of all, Madonna has refused several times to perform longterm in vegas, she prefers worldtours and visiting vegas once or twice then just staying there. also, I think it would be great for Britney to become a resident headliner because only washed up has-beens do things like that so that it just perfect for britney. as if her status of princess of pop wasn’t already in jeopardy. I guess she wants to ruin her career as quickly as possible.

wow that’s really exciting to hear….i love britney….and would love to travel to Vegas to see her….she’ll have lots of time to spend with her baby and kevin which is awesome.

Las Vegas is great for pop performers who’ve been around for years. People like Madonna or Michael, who are known for being legendary entertainers & who people would flock to go see. Prince would also be great! Celine Dion has an amazing show in Vegas that sells out regularly. Britney is only freakin 23 years old! Her pop music career has only spanned 6 short years & she’s only released 4 studio albums, most of which consists of lightweight juvenile dance pop. Who the hell is gonna go see some ex-teen sex symbol perform some old teeny bopper hits. Grown ass adults are not gonna pay good money to go see her unless of course the men want to see her strip & her young audience is gonna grow out of her & on to more mature acts. I just don’t see her lasting in Vegas!

I agree!!! Britney won’t make it there…that’s not exactly a town for her fans to go to, since there are all like 12 years old. Parents are going to have to fly there kinds out there to see her…ain’t gonna happen. Haha. She’s fooling herself if she thinks it’ll go over well. She needs to take a LOT of time off, as much as she needs, to be with her baby…hopefully we won’t have to hear about her anymore!

That would definitely be a bad idea for Britney. If she is still around in 20 years, then maybe she should do it. Right now, I think she should just take 2 years off to take care of her baby when she has it. Then do a comeback album or whatever.

You make some very good points but, I think Britney can make this work for her. >’, ‘Britney has accomplished a lot out of her almost 9 year career. The first 7 years were very beneficial for her. As of 2004 she is reported worth about $60+ million dollars. Even though I still think she has at least another 4-6 years left of her career before she does the Las Vegas thing, she’s still making a good decision. She’s now going to be a mother & it would be a great opportunity for her to have a 2-4 years long show in Las Vegas. It would give her more stability in her life. She would have the best of both worlds, motherhood & Hollywood. Who could ask for more than that! Just think every year she could make $30 – 40 million dollars just for doing the show. And have lots of time to be a devoted wife & mother. Now my question is about her new contract with Jive Records. Where does her 3 album $10.5 million dollar contract fit into all of this? I hope the contract is real & not a made up story.
