MTV News reports that Britney Spears remake of Bobby Brown’s ‘My Prerogative’ is featured on the Real Tapemasters Inc.’s ‘The Future of R&B’ at track 12 with her new single. “They can never take away your truth. But the question is, can you handle mine?” she sings in a few breaths above a whisper as the record begins. Shaheem Reid says, “The track doesn’t have the hard thump of Brown’s New Jack Swing-era, bass-laden original, but Brit doesn’t deviate too far from Bobby’s original lyrics, just switching up here and there for gender’s sake.” Read more.
