With the New Year coming, every magazine and music network has named their top vids, songs, and celebs of 2004. How did match up? Here as some of Britney’s accomplishments of 2004.

MTV named Britney’s video for ‘Toxic’ the #3 video of the year (only behind vids by D12 and Kanye West) because of its huge amount of airplay and requests.

Rollingstone named ‘My Prerogative’ the best video of the year.

Britney won best Video at the Teen Choice Awards for ‘Toxic’ and scored an MTV Europe award for Best Female Artsit.

MTV named Britney’s video for ‘Toxic’ the #3 video of the year (only behind vids by D12 and Kanye West) because of its huge amount of airplay and requests.

MTV.com has named ‘Toxic’ the number 1 most requested song with ‘Everytime’ coming in right behind it at number 4.
‘Toxic’ also scored the number 1 spot on MTV.com’s 2004’s Top 10 which is picked by MTV staff and fans.

VH1 named ‘Everytime’ one of the top 40 videos of the year and ‘Toxic’ slid in at a cool # 7. VH1 also named Toxic the number 12 best number 1 in history.

Rollingstone named ‘My Prerogative’ the best video of the year.

Billboard gave Britney a Billboard music award for ‘Me Against the Music’ marking its spot as the best Dance single of the year.

Access Hollywood named Britney their top star of 2004, who had the most buzz around her with almost 200 news stories.

Curious is still the top selling perfume in America, Australia, and Canada – and continues to break records.

Britney’s 2005 album release ‘Britney Spear’s Greatest Hits: My Prerogative’ has sold 4.8 million records worldwide marking it’s spot as one of the years best albums. It debuted at number 1 in numerous countries around the world, and if not number 1, it slid into the Top 5 like in the US.

Britney’s Greatest Hits DVD has sold more copies then any other Britney DVD and is currently in the Top 5 for DVD sales IN THE WORLD! This DVD has exceeded Jive’s expectations. It also topped the list as best selling music DVD of 2004.

Britney has had the most top 40 singles this year (tied with Usher) and has now moved into the 4th place position for most top 40 singles EVER!

Britney’s ‘Chris Cox Megamix’, which was released in the UK and other places around the world (not the US), did excellent getting to number 1 on numerous charts. ‘My Prerogative’ seen similar success around the world and she is looking to start off 2005 with a boom releasing a video for her new song ‘Do Somethin’ (This video is not projected be released in the US.)

Britney triumphed over many of her music rivals on Entertainment Tonight’s Top Celebs of 2004 list. The top ten goes as follows-

Britney once again scored the top spot on Google’s most searched lists and similar success could be seen on all top search engines.

Among awards she has gotten this year she Britney got a Grammy nomination for ‘Toxic’, won best female at Europe’s VMAs, got Best video for ‘Toxic’ at the Teen Choice Awards, and scored tons of nominations this year (many being yet to be decided like her noms for the Australian VMAs.)

Britney also topped many other charts this year – with ‘Toxic’ being the #1 music video of the year in Europe on many music TV stations (MTV, etc…) and ‘My Prerogative’ doing very well worldwide selling almost 800k copies of this cover single. On VH1’s Top 40 of 2004 Britney scored in the top 3 in categories voted on by VH1 viewers. These categories included Best Ride for her jet in Toxic, Best Cover for My Prerogative, and best autobiographical song with ‘Everytime.”

Britney’s success has been huge this year. The only thing that has brought her down has been backlash from the media and her crazy Vegas anullment but even with all that trying to put a shadow over Britney, she still comes out as one of the top artists of the year. Her success on the charts worldwide show us that even though Britney is going to be taking a break to start her family – she is still a force to be reckoned with and will be welcomed back with open arms and some more number 1 singles!
