The New York Post reports that when Britney Spears performed at three different clubs in less than three hours in New York on Friday, fans may have been happy, but those with cameras, and photographers, were not. “It was way out of control,” said one photographer. “They went totally overboard.” One photographer called police after being put in a headlock by an MTV security guard, but reportedly decided against pressing charges. Security also grabbed a point-and-shoot from a female fan, who was later seen crying, according to another photographer.

Hi Backstreet. You know, there are some things that Britney did that were just plain stupid, and demonstrated a big, bad ego — like when she flicks off fans or photographers. That’s shameful and disrespectful. But I don’t think we can condemn her for what happened here. MTV bodyguards roughed people up, and it wasn’t as though they did it because Britney asked them to.
