Britney’s ‘Slave 4 U’ Hurts Escaped Slave

Francis Bok, 22, who was a slave for 10 years in Sudan, has written Britney Spears to ask her to consider the political implications of her lyrics. Bok wrote, “I know you don’t mean any harm. You probably just didn’t know that millions of people, many of them our age, are enslaved around the world. You’ve got the voice, please use it to educate your fans about slavery and urge them to become abolitionists.”
