Canada’s Idol Almost An Exact Clone

Anika Van Wyk of the Calgary Sun shared her thoughts on the debut of ‘Canadian Idol’ on CTV Monday night. Van Wyk says, “Despite claims by producers that Canadian Idol was original and different from its American predecessor, the homegrown Idol is almost exactly the same — complete with its own Simon-esque judge. The only dead give-away that one is watching Canadian Idol, which debuted last night on CTV, are the Tim Hortons cups and the occasional hockey jersey. The series uses the same theme music, silver-singer graphics and sets.”
