Carly Smithson Discusses Her ‘American Idol’ Exit On ‘Today’

Irish singer Carly Smithson captured a considerable following on 'American Idol' before being voted off last week. She visited the 'Today' show on Tuesday (April 29) to talk with co-hosts Al Roker and Natalie Morales about what's next for her. "It's nice to go out as a shock elimination," Carly said after frequent appearances in the bottom three, only to get the boot the week she won praise from Simon Cowell.
