A source close to Dougie Poynter spoke with The Mirror about the bassist deciding to check into a rehab facility ahead of the band’s Above The Noise UK tour, which begins in a few weeks. “Dougie was absolutely heartbroken when Frankie dumped him,” the source said, referring to The Saturdays’ singer . “He saw himself getting married and having kids and being with her for life. And he was just crushed. It got to the point where he was struggling to get through the day so he decided to seek help at the Priory clinic. He’s been in there working hard on getting his head straight.”

During an appearance on ‘Today’, ‘Australian Idol’ season one winner reportedly told co-host Kerri-Anne Kennerley about being arrested in Los Angeles on suspicion of grand theft auto, which happened to be his own car that he had reported stolen a few weeks prior. “The car apparently turned up at a random impound so he went to pick it up himself,” a source who overheard the conversation told the Herald Sun. “Not long after getting it back, 10 police jumped him, got him out of the car and arrested him at a carwash. Guns drawn, cuffs, everything! He was saying to them ‘Look, this is my car and I have recently reported it stolen’. They still took him to the cop shop but he was released, of course, after he proved it was his car.”

Despite Simon Cowell’s efforts to get to join him on the U.S. version of ‘The X Factor’, producers are turning their eyes towards pop stars who are more well known in America – and Rihanna. “Everyone thinks Cheryl has the judging job on US X Factor in the bag,” a friend of the Girls Aloud star’s rumored boyfriend Derek Hough told The Sun. “The truth is, nothing has been signed and the producers still aren’t convinced. They are more keen to get a big US star like Katy or Rihanna on the panel – someone who will bring credibility to the show and who is already popular in the US.”
