just checked in with fans on her Twitter account (@TheMandyMoore) after watching the recently released “real life Spinal Tap” film ‘Anvil’. The singer/actress tells readers:

Ok… so I just finished watching the documentary “Anvil”. OMG. Please, please do yourself a favor and go see it!!

I mean, I’m by no means a metal fan but I completely fell in love with the story…. their friendship, the power of belief in oneself…

and above all: the unwavering dedication to their passion. I was beyond touched. You completely root for them. Can’t wait to see it again!!

Ok… sorry to gush. I was just so moved. :) some tears were definitely shed.

Jennifer Lopez Signs On To Star In ‘The Back-Up Plan’

’s people checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace on Wednesday (April 15), revealing that the singer/actress is “expecting a baby” in an exciting topic line – but not quite. They write:

That’s right, Miz Lopez is pregnant—in her new movie, that is! Jennifer just signed on for the lead role in the new romantic comedy ‘The Back-Up Plan’, where she’ll play Zoe, a single woman who turns to artificial insemination to answer her ticking biological clock. But her strategy goes bust when Mr. Right, Alex McLoughlin (‘Moonlight’, ‘August Rush’) shows up at the same time as her positive pregnancy test. Now she and her new dream man must figure out love, marriage and family—in reverse.

Director Alan Poul (‘Swingtown’, ‘Big Love’, ‘Six Feet Under’) has signed on to direct the flick, which will hit theaters January 2010.

‘Hannah Montana: The Movie’ Opening Day Box Office: $17.2 Million

According to The Hollywood Reporter, ’ new film ‘Hannah Montana: The Movie’ is doing better than expected this Easter weekend, pulling in an estimated $17.2 million on its first day in theaters Friday. Showing in 3,118 theaters, the Disney Channel TV series spinoff should pass Miley’s 2008 3D concert movie ‘Hannah Montana/: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour’, which earned $31.1 million its opening weekend. The one day figure puts it on the top of the box office, taking out last week’s #1, ‘Fast & Furious’.

‘Hannah Montana: The Movie’ Is “Really Good”

Marc Malkin of E! video blogged about today being the day for ’ new film ‘Hannah Montana: The Movie’ hitting theaters. Malkin said the film was “really good” and referred to it as “pure bubble gum, candy and ice cream rolled into one. Miley does what Miley does best – that is sings, acts, pratfalls, and just puts her sweet little heart into all of it.”

Jonas Brothers: The 3D Shirtless Experience

spoke with MTV News about their decision to go shirtless during a scene from their ‘Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience’ film. “That’s an interesting question,” Joe Jonas responded. “It was actually just everyone’s collaboration. We wanted to film everything backstage, and that just happened to be our quick-change room and they caught us. It was really funny.”

“The thing is, we were in the midst of the show, so we were just continuing like a show,” Nick Jonas added. “So when we went backstage, we didn’t realize they were there and we were changing … we went, ‘Oh my gosh! Wow! We might want to get them out of here.’ So it was in the moment.”

Mariah Carey’s New Film ‘Push’ Wins Top Awards At Sundance

‘Push: Based on the Novel by Sapphire’, starring , won the top awards at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival in the Grand Jury Prize (U.S. Dramatic Competition), Special Jury Prize (U.S. Dramatic), and Audience Award (U.S. Dramatic) categories. “This is so important to me because this is speaking for every minority that’s in Harlem, that’s in Detroit, that’s in Watts, that’s being abused, that can’t read, that’s obese and that we turn our back on,” the film’s director Lee Daniels said. “And this is for every gay little boy and girl that’s being tortured. ‘Filth And Wisdom’ A Box Office Dud For Madonna

Roger Friedman of FoxNews.com reports that ’s new film ‘Filth and Wisdom’ hasn’t exactly been a box office smash since coming out October 17th, selling just over $18,000 in tickets. It only played in Toronto, St. Louis, and Columbus, Ohio over the weekend, down from ten screens the prior week. Read more.

Missy Higgins Terrified But Honored To Join ‘Brand New Dae’ Cast

is returning home to Australia to begin filming a feature film adaptation of cult musical ‘Brand New Dae’. The singer songwriter will play the character of Annie alongside Academy Award winner Geoffrey Rush as Father Benedictus, Ernie Dingo as Tadpole & Dan Sultan as Lester in the movie, set in the summer of 1967.

“Broome holds a special place in my heart so this opportunity felt like something I just couldn’t pass up on,” Higgins said. “I fell in love with all the characters when I read the script, ecspecially my character (Annie) who is a hilarious hippie. Being my first go at acting I’m a bit terrified but I feel very honored to be working alongside such an incredible cast and crew and I know it’s gonna be a lot of fun.”
