Kelly Clarkson checked in with fans on her blog at Whosay.com after performing the National Anthem before Sunday’s Super Bowl in Indianapolis. The ‘American Idol’ season one champ writes:
Guess what ….I’ve never been more nervous in my life than singing the national anthem at the Super Bowl tonight ….wow that was almost not fun I was so nervous! Fun night overall though! Thank you everybody for all of the nice things you’re saying about my performance! I really appreciate it :)
Shane Harper has just revealed the details for his upcoming exclusive Target release of his self-titled debut album, which will feature 12 tracks including singles ‘One Step Closer’ and ‘Rocketship’, along with four unreleased tracks. The album will be released through Deep Well Records (launched by Glee Executive Music Producer, Adam Anders) exclusively at Target on Valentine’s Day, February 14th.
“It’s so incredible to record an album under the direction of someone I respect and is so extremely talented,” said Shane on working with Adam Anders. Special guests for the album include rapper Prophet on the track ‘Know What I Know’, and his co-star Bridgit Mendler from Disney’s ‘Good Luck Charlie’ on ‘Wait For Me’.

Adam Young checked in with fans on the Owl City blog moments ago, talking about why he chose the stage pseudonym. Young writes:
After high school I moved to Minneapolis and spent the dead of winter in Minnesota working the graveyard shift at UPS. By default, everyone hated me and I hated being there so I moved home, got another dead end job and wasted a semester and a half at Riverland Community College thinking I could make something of myself (it wasn’t a waste because the college was “bad” but because I couldn’t make myself do the work and eventually got myself onto the academic probation list and thrown out). This is when I started producing music. How it all ended up working out, I’ll never know.
Mid-semester I read a short story by Ambrose Bierce for one of my required English courses, a story called “An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge” that had a profound effect on me. It wasn’t until later that I discovered the 1962 French film adaptation that ended up changing my general outlook, my frame of mind, my point of perspective, and my entire life from that moment on.

Sarah Jaffe has announced the April 24th release of her new full-length studio album ‘The Body Wins’ on Kirtland Records. The new album was produced by John Congleton and is the follows to her debut full-length ‘Suburban Nature’.
As Jaffe gears up for the release of The Body Wins, she will be performing select dates across the US in February and March. The tour kicks off on February 5th with Lucinda Williams, John Hiatt, Rhett Miller of the Old ’97s, The Civil Wars and more on the Camayo Cruise. Shortly after, Jaffe will head up to New York City for a special show at the Mercury Lounge on February 22nd where she’ll be playing songs from ‘The Body Wins’. Then out to the West Coast where she joins up with Guthrie for a handful of dates before heading back to Texas for this year’s SXSW.

Clay Aiken checked in with his Twitter followers (@clayaiken) earlier today while watching CNN, unhappy with the network playing up the revelation by the parents of Florida A&M University drum major Robert Champion that he was gay. Champion died after being beaten severely during a hazing attack in Orlando last semester. The ‘American Idol’ season two runner-up posted a pair of Tweets directed at Brooke Baldwin, who teased the revelation that Aiken viewed as tabloid journalism. The family attorney Christopher Chestnut said during a news conference that an investigation showed “This was hazing, not a hate crime.” Aiken writes:

Jason Derulo suffered an injury to his neck on Tuesday, January 3rd, and has been forced to cancel all touring and promotional activities. The 22-year-old Miami native injured himself while training for his upcoming World Tour in support of his current album ‘Future History’, which was scheduled to commence in Glasgow, Scotland on February 23rd.
While executing an acrobatic move, Derulo landed directly on his head, and suffered an acute fracture to his vertebra. After being rushed to Memorial West Hospital in Miami’s Pembroke Pines, Florida, Jason was told by doctors that the accident could have left him paralyzed. Derulo has been released from the hospital but must wear a neck brace for the next few months. Anyone holding tickets for upcoming shows will be refunded at point of purchase.

To all my fans who planned to come to the Future History World tour, the pain of letting you down cuts me way deeper than this injury I’ve sustained. My fans mean everything to me, so I’m praying for a speedy recovery in order to perform for you in the near future.
Katy Perry checked in with her Twitter followers (@katyperry) earlier today, the first time the pop star has posted on the micro blogging service since December 26th, before it was announced she and Russell Brand were getting a divorce. The 27-year-old thanked supporters and lashed out at media who have been reporting gossip coming from unidentified sources about what led to the end of the 14-month marriage to the British comedian. Perry writes:
