Lindsay Lohan Gets Another Chance To Be On Time For Morgue Duty

Lindsay Lohan court close-up

was late and turned away from her first day of community service at the Los Angeles County morgue on Thursday after showing up late, but the singer/actress will get a second chance to appear on time later today. “Lindsay arrived at the morgue approximately 20 minutes late and will be returning for orientation tomorrow,” her publicist Steven Honig said. “Her lateness was due to a combination of not knowing what entrance to go through and confusion caused by the media waiting for her arrival. Lindsay spoke with the supervisors at the morgue. They showed her how to get in, and everything is all cleared up.”

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner ruled Wednesday that LiLo had to post $100,000 bail for her probation revocation and that she would have to perform two eight hour days at the morgue two times a week until her probation revocation hearing on November 2nd.

D.A. Wallach Is No Fan Of Beats By Dr. Dre

D.A. Wallach and Max Drummey of Chester French

D.A. Wallach of checked in with his Twitter followers (@DAChesterFrench) a few hours ago, ripping Beats by Dr. Dre headphones (Monster Cable), and how Interscope Records asked artists on their label to wear the headphones in their music videos. Wallach’s Tweets seemed to indicate the group had been dropped by Interscope. He writes:

I generally use “wearing BEATS headphones” as a litmus test for whether someone is an idiot.

No disrespect to any of you who have been conned into purchasing them, but those Beats sound like sh**.

Way too loud, awful stereo imaging, insanely overpriced. REALLY nice box though. It probably costs $10 to make the box.

I fu**ing LOVE Dr. Dre. He is the greatest. But the headphones are not dope. They’re a marketing scam in my opinion.

Like lots of sh***y music, I respect the business behind it but not the integrity of the product. I see both sides.

And yes, it’s pretty uncreative that everyone is now copying and putting out headphones. Aren’t there other verticals to disrupt?

I use a bunch of diff headphones….The dude who runs Beats used to rep the Sony headphones, which I think are a classic fo bass / comfort.

The thing about audio is that there’s not “good” or “bad” really. There is “accuracy” but that doesn’t necessarily mean pleasure.

Sometimes I like headphones that give me a very honest picture of the sound field and when just listening I want whatever is most pleasant.

When we were on Interscope they asked every single artist to wear Beats in the music videos.

Some of the staff and I used to regard it as a ridiculous scavenger hunt to find them in absurdly out-of-context moments.

Look. There are tons of sh***y products out there. Most products are sh***y in the world. And lots are good businesses.

You just gotta decide whether you want to profit off bullsh** or greatness.

All this being said, I actually believe that hi-fi will come back. Sonos is a very interesting company to me for this reason.

Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily and Shane Filan of Westlife

released a statement Wednesday confirming that they are splitting up after 14 years together. Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily and Shane Filan have confirmed that the Irish boy band will break up following their ‘Greatest Hits’ tour and album release. ‘Greatest Hits’ is out November 21st on Sony Music.

A statement from the Irish boyband reads:

After 14 years, 26 top ten hits including 14 number one singles, 11 top 5 albums, 7 of which hit the top spot and have collectively sold over 44 million copies around the world, 10 sell out tours and countless memories that we will forever cherish, we today announce our plan to go our separate ways after a greatest hits collection this Christmas and a farewell tour next year.

The decision is entirely amicable and after spending all of our adult life together so far, we want to have a well-earned break and look at new ventures.

We see the greatest hits collection and the farewell tour as the perfect way to celebrate our incredible career along with our fans. We are really looking forward to getting out on the tour and seeing our fans one last time.

Over the years Westlife has become so much more to us than just a band. Westlife are a family. We would like to thank our fans who have been with us on this amazing journey and are part of our family too.

We never imagined when we started out in 1998 that 14 years later we would still be recording, touring and having hits together. It has been a dream come true for all of us.

Love Cheat Prompted Cady Groves To Hit Reset Button On Debut LP

Cady Groves

spoke with Billboard about how becoming involved with one of the songwriters working on her debut album became a mess after the pint sized singer songwriter found out he already had a girlfriend. After scrapping the material she had written with the cheater, she started over on her first release. “It was hard to even write at that point,” the 22-year-old Oklahoma native said. “I just wanted everyone to leave me alone, to hide away. What was great was the label saying, ‘We understand what’s going on, but we see something that you can’t see. There’s a silver lining in you writing right now.’”

Colbie Caillat Tries To Write Optimistic Songs

Colbie Caillat wearing cutoffs

spoke with Boston Music Spotlight about her propensity to write happy music, how that attitude is influenced by growing up in Southern California, being able to play shows with crowds that now know the music on her new album ‘All of You’, and being a fan of the east coast.

“When I write songs, I do try to make them optimistic,” the 26-year-old said. “When I’m feeling sad or upset or a friend is going through a hard time, I write about it – I write about what’s going on. But I change it halfway through the song and try to make it how I want it to be or how it should be or how it can be if we make changes. I don’t like feeling that way for too long, so I want to turn things around as quick as possible and make them happy. And even if it doesn’t work for me or someone, maybe it will work for one person.”
