Madonna Launches ‘Roses’ Toy Line

According to Billboard.com, and merchandising company Signatures Network Inc. announced a deal to develop dolls, apparel, accessories, cosmetics, stationery, room decor and back-to-school products aimed at the “pre-tween” readers, aged 7 to 12, who made ’s book a hit. The ‘Roses’ products begin rolling out in early 2004. “I’m excited about the opportunity to develop a range of beautiful products that will complement the book and continue to spread its positive messages to children,” said.

The Evening Standard reports the high-profile launch of the Regent Street Christmas lights in London suffered an embarrassing hitch Thursday night when the 8,000 bulb display failed to turn on, finally lighting up after twenty minutes. About 10,000 shoppers had gathered to see singer illuminate the capital’s most stylish shopping street. Millions more were watching the event being broadcast live on BBC1.

Earlier this year, Backstreet Boys star and friend/producer Keith McGuffey announced that they were partnering to head a project they call The Music Workshop. It’s a comprehensive company that will educate and guide aspiring musical artists through workshops, personal consulting, and professional demo recording. Now that the project is up and running, so is the official website for it. JC Chasez Talks ‘Schizophrenic’

According to RollingStone.com, took an active role in arranging and creating a diverse musical palette for his upcoming album, ‘Schizophrenic.’ “I took more of an artistic approach,” he told Rolling Stone. “I’m not sure about typical *NSYNC fans — I hope to take younger fans who grew up with us, and give them more to think about. I’m trying to respect their intelligence.” For the first single, ‘Some Girls (Dance With Women),’ JC enlisted director Martin Weisz to shoot the video, which should go into rotation early next month. A remix of the song has also been assembled with Dirt McGirt (the former Ol’ Dirty Bastard). “Musicians will respect it a lot more than anything I’ve ever done before,” he said. “This album is not about what’s going to sell.” Prior to Schizophrenic’s release, JC will kick off a short club tour.

Jennifer Lopez Is Being Sued For ‘I’m Glad’ Video

According to Billboard.com, is being sued for copyright infringement for her video ‘I’m Glad,’ an homage to the film ‘Flashdance,’ by Maureen Marder, who was the dancer inspired for the film. The lawsuit, filed on November 13, claims that Lopez and her label, Epic, didn’t have permission to make the video, which re-created distinctive scenes from the movie. Marder refused to grant sequel rights or to permit any further use of her story after the film became a success, according to her attorney Robert Hefling. Read more.

Jennifer Lopez Launches Lingerie Line

has signed an exclusive global deal with Warnaco to manufacture and sell a lingerie collection, which will include bras, underwear and shapewear. There also will be a line of sleepwear and loungewear. “I am honored to partner with Warnaco, an industry leader, to produce JLO by Lingerie as an extension of my fashion company,” said Lopez. The lingerie collection will be launched in fall 2004.

Roger Friedman of FoxNews.com reports that and new boyfriend Tommy Lee attended Clive Davis’ party Thursday night at the Industria Superstudio in the West Village to hear Alicia Keys perform tracks from her new album ‘The Diary of Alicia Keys,’ due December 2nd. But Spears’ latest religious foray into Kabbalah, with new pal ’s prodding, suggests masturbation is a sin. AskMoses.com says, “Kabbalah is very explicit about the negative spiritual side-effects of masturbation. The idea is as follows: Your seed is the material by which you procreate; it is the genetic material within you that allows you the opportunity to partner with God.”

‘World Idol’ Showdown On Christmas

The New York Post reports ‘’ champ will compete in ‘World Idol,’ a global pop-star singing competition in which the winners from 10 other versions of the talent show will battle for the ultimate ‘Idol’ championship. “When I dreamed up the idea of [the U.K.'s] ‘Pop Idol,’ I always saw it is a global concept, and so I’m delighted to see ‘World Idol’ being made in London,” creator and producer Simon Fuller said in a statement. “The last two years have been fantastic and it is incredibly satisfying to see a British TV idea being so successful on a global stage.” The new show will air in two parts. In first, airing in primetime the night of Christmas Day, singers will perform for 11 judges, one from each country that a version of the show airs in. The second part, the results show, will air on New Year’s Day.
