I think as far as overexposure and things like that it’s a tricky thing, but I don’t take on anything that I don’t feel extremely passionate about.” Read on for a transcript.
I’m Pat O’Brien. It’s the nagging tabloid rumor that won’t leave j.Lo. Alone — that she’s pregnant. Jennifer separates fact from fiction.
Lopez: Preggers. No, no preggers right now.
O’Brien: Jennifer lopez on the record and laughing off tabloid reports that she is pregnant, or preggers as she called it.
Lopez: Not right now, no. You’ll be the first to know. I’m sure you guys will know before I do. You know, they start these rumors all the time, you know what I mean? It’s not the only one. They do it to Jennifer Aniston. They do it to everybody. I think it’s just kind of, you know, they are waiting.
O’Brien: But Jennifer says she is looking forward to a family in the future.
Lopez: Yeah, I mean, eventually. I come from a very close family, very loving family, so it’s something that i know will be my stability and my happiness.
O’Brien: Of course, Hollywood’s hardest working gal certainly would have no time right now for babies. She’s an actress, a singer, a clothing designer, a restauranteur, and there’s more to come.
Lopez: Perfume. Because it’s good. I don’t want anybody to miss it or else I wouldn’t bring it up.
O’Brien: And listen to this crazy schedule — she just wrapped up production on ‘Gigli’, a crime comedy co-starring Ben Affleck. On Tuesday she was in Harlem filming her new music video, ‘I’m gonna be all right.’ On Monday she’ll start production on the movie ‘the chambermaid’ with Ralph Fiennes. And this week she’s in new york promoting her latest film, the thriller ‘enough.’ But is j.Lo. In danger of overexposure?
Lopez: I worry about certain things sometimes, like spreading myself too thin, not having enough time to contribute to everything. I think as far as overexposure and things like that it’s a tricky thing, but I don’t take on anything that i don’t feel extremely passionate about.
O’Brien: Her thriller opens may 24th. We’ll have more with j.Lo on Monday and you’ll like it.
Jennifer Lopez spoke with Mary Hart of Entertainment Tonight on Friday, where she addressed recent rumors that she was pregnant and whether she worries about her biological clock. J.Lo said, “I just feel like we’re modern women, you know, we don’t do things like they did a century ago. You know what he mean? Several things have progressed and we realize ourselves more as human beings and the potential that we have. And as far as being able to have children physically, whatever, I mean, i have people in my family aunts, who have given birth in their 40s. And, you know, the kids are living proof, they work with me right now. You know what I mean?” Read on for the story.
Our Mary Hart was first to talk to Jennifer Lopez about her new movie and the pressure of starting a family.
Reporter: Are you aware of a book that came out recently and has really created waves about women waiting too long to have children? Have you thought about that?
Lopez: I just feel like we’re modern women, you know, we don’t do things like they did a century ago. You know what he mean? Several things have progressed and we realize ourselves more as human beings and the potential that we have. And as far as being able to have children physically, whatever, i mean, i have people in my family aunts, who have given birth in their 40s. And, you know, the kids are living proof, they work with me right now. You know what I mean?
Reporter: So you and Chris aren’t suddenly worried?
Lopez: I feel that things will happen naturally in my life when god wills them to.
Reporter: It’s hard to imagine the 31-year-old even having time to start a family. In the last 12 months, Jennifer married Cris Judd, launched a clothing line, opened a restaurant, and her new thriller ‘enough’ hits theaters Wednesday. She stars as a woman who turns the tables on her abusive husband played by Billy Campbell.
Lopez: Me and billy were really beaten up at the end, you know what m mean?
Reporter: How do you pack all that into 12 months?
Lopez: You know, I don’t think about it. You know, I go from project to project. I do what kind of feels natural and organic. And, you know, and i get really impassioned with the things I’m working on. So all of a sudden, a year’s gone by and it’s like, oh, we got a lot done. That’s good.
Reporter: Nobody would ever say, I want to do this, this, this and this and do it all at once like J.Lo. They would be nuts, wouldn’t they?
Lopez: I am nuts. I’m not saying I’m not
Reporter: But J.Lo is also a role model. Her success on the big screen has brought a payday that has reportedly passed $12 million a movie.
Reporter: You have accomplished so many firsts, from being the highest — the first Latina actress to make a million dollars. And that was years ago. I mean, now, you are, forget Latina — you are the, perhaps the, you know, one of the top three highest paid actresses, female actresses, in the world today. How does that feel?
Lopez: I never heard it put to me like that before. Feels pretty good. It feels — it’s a — i guess it’s good that I don’t think about it so much.
Reporter: Plus, you’re still a newlywed. What’s the best part about being a newlywed?
Lopez: Just being a newlywed is the best part of that, you know? You just thank god for every day you have a great friend by your side.
Reporter: Jennifer told Mary that there are two leading men she would really like to work with — Johnny Depp and Jude Law.

Conan: You know, last time — this is a true story — last time you were on the show as a guest, we were talking, and you — you said, “I would love” — you said that you would love to do a Pepsi ad with Britney Spears. Since then, you actually — you’ve done one. It’s quite famous. I think — well, let’s just show a quick clip of it, for anyone who hasn’t seen it.
Ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba
the joy of pepsi yeah
[ dog barks ]
Bob Dole: Easy, boy.
[ Laughter ]
[ cheers and applause ]
Conan: You made it happen.
Bob Dole: Yeah, I — I flew all the way from Washington to l.A. To sit in Los Angeles — to say two words — “Easy, boy.”
Bob Dole: And I got about five “dirty old man” letters, you know, later.
Conan: People accusing you of being a dirty old man.
Bob Dole: Yeah, and I wrote back that I wasn’t barking, it was the dog. You know, I was just watching television. [ Laughter ] but I really came here tonight to confirm that I’m not responsible for the breakup of Britney and Justin.
[ Laughter ]
Conan: That’s what all the tabloids are saying.
Bob Dole: That’s what they’re all saying, but, you know, we had a nice time. I didn’t get to meet her, but —
[ laughter ]
Conan: You didn’t meet her? You did the ad and you didn’t meet her?
Bob Dole: I met Ted, a dog.
[ Laughter ]
Conan: What, you flew all the way out there and you got to hang out with a dog, and not Britney?
Bob Dole: Well, I didn’t hang out with him long. They said, “Now, don’t worry if he doesn’t bark, just say your words and we’ll put the bark in later.”
Bob Dole: And it was — it was a lot of fun. I mean, I got a year’s free Pepsi and she got $10 million, so, you know —
[ laughter ]
[ applause ]
Conan: Sounds to me like — sounds to me like you need a better agent.
[ Light laughter ]
Bob Dole: i think so. I don’t kn w what kind of agent I need, but at my age, you don’t want to hire anybody for too long a time. [ Laughter ] If I order three-minute eggs, I gotta pay in advance.
