Access Hollywood talked to Britney Spears about how the singer is tired of people telling her what to do as she replied, “I am put up there where a lot of people have a lot of opinions about me and say a lot of things about me. And they do try to tell me what to do to a certain extent. I think I’ve come, within the last year, I’ve put myself in a position where I call the shots.” As for the new album, Britney said, “I’m just really proud of this record musically, because I had such a part of it and just want my fans to buy it and really respect it.”
Enrique Iglesias was on the Tonight Show on Friday to perform ‘Hero’ but the focus turned out to be a hot & horny Shannon Elizabeth who arrived without her loser wannabe actor fiance. Shannon was first quizzed by Jay for not bringing him along and then being caught in the dressing room with Enrique.
Then, after Enrique performed, Shannon boldly offered to kiss Enrique but chickened out. When Enrique talked about having a foot fetish, Shannon’s foot was in his hand within 2 seconds. It was apparent Shannon would dump her boyfriend in a second for Enrique.

Aaron Carter Issues Statement on Terrorist Attacks
September 13, 2001 – Aaron Carter has a pop-up message on his official site making the following statement from Aaron, “Our prayers go out to the victims and all Americans and the world on this day of tragedy. May we all find love and peace in spite of this cowardly evil.”
According to the New York Daily News, Mariah Carey’s interview with Barbara Walters has never been rescheduled, contrary to earlier reports on HitsDailyDouble that it had and would be aired October 17… which it never was. The paper also has details of Mariah’s Ally McBeal episode.
Mariah Carey will perform at the VH1 Fashion Awards which will be taped Friday at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York and broadcast at 9:00 p.m. on October 23. Guests and presenters include Nelly Furtado and celebs like Salma Hayek, Gwyneth Paltrow, Renee Zellweger and Gisele Bundchen.
Joey Fatone was on the Late Show with Craig Kilborn on Friday where he promoted the new film he’s starring in with *NSYNC bandmate Lance Bass. Joey addressed the knock on the band that they are ‘too nice’ saying, “It’s not like we do mean things or anything. Everybody makes mistakes, but it’s not like we kick a puppy or anything or steal some kid’s lunch money.” Joey also mentioned the Chyna rumors.
Mariah Carey was on Extra Thursday where she talked about her first return to her apartment in New York since the terror attacks on September 11. Mariah said, “My apartment is pretty close to Ground Zero, and the police commissioner took me on a tour. It was the most devastating thing I’ve ever seen in my life.”
Mariah, a New York native, has faith in her city despite the acts of terror saying, “I know New York is going to recover from this. I know the world is gonna recover from what’s gone on, but just growing up in New York, for me, it’s going to take a while.”
While touring the area around her home, Mariah met with recovery workers and visited a family center consoling victims families, “All the stories, they’re all heartbreaking, but it’s nice to see how people have bonded together to find relief.”
As for her performance of ‘Hero’ that helped raise $150 million for the victims’ families, Carey said, “I’m an American and I’m here just trying to get by like everybody else and do my part to help.”
Britney.com reports that Britney Spears’ planned appearance on the Tonight Show Thursday has been postponed. Rumor has it her management thought that it was not the best time for her to be performing I’m a Slave 4 U, and they’re just using her image to promote it. Jay announced last night that Blink-182 would perform tonight instead.
Lance Bass will be on Late Night with Conan O’Brien on Thursday. Conan’s other guest will be SNL’s Chris Kattan. Joey Fatone will be on the Late Show with Craig Kilborn on Friday. Craig’s other guests are Laura Harring and musical guest, Nickelback. Both guys are on with Rosie O’Donnell today, with Nelly Furtado as musical guest.

September 21, 2001 – The Star reports *NSYNC’s Lance Bass is heating it up with 31 year old Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie star Kristy Swanson. The tab reports Swanson has dumped Alan Thicke as she’s “tired of dating older men who lack the stamina to keep up with her” according to an insider.
HitsDailyDouble.com is reporting that Mariah Carey’s cancelled interview with 20/20’s Barbara Walters will be conducted on Friday October 5.
