Jill Sobule spoke with EW.com about how Katy Perry is enjoying a hit right now with ‘I Kissed a Girl’, a song title that matches her 1995 hit. “I don’t feel precious about the title, but I’ve gotten tons of e-mails from annoyed fans,” she explained. “Some think it’s more of a Girls Gone Wild thing than anything shocking or empowering to true gay feelings.” Sobule added, “Katy Perry’s song is a kind of catchy party song, although I will admit that I do smile when a critique mentions my version in a more favorable light. Is that wrong?” Read more.

Lily Allen was photographed topless again while on vacation in Cannes, this time by Xposure Photos as she was washing off on Flavio Briatore’s yacht after she took a dip. The three times in a week exposure recalls Britney’s three in a week no panties upskirt shots the paparazzi managed to get while she was hanging out with Paris Hilton. Miley Cyrus is back with the new single ‘7 Things’, the first single from her upcoming album, due out July 22. Listen to the track here.
In the song, the teen sings about a recent breakup in which she lists the things she hates about her ex (“Your games/ You’re insecure/You love me/You like her”).
After a string of bad press following her Vanity Fair photo scandal, in which she apologized for the provocative poses, the teen sensation is most likely very happy being back in the news for something she loves: singing!
