Several sources denied claims by the New York Times that CBS executives shelled out $1 million to Michael Jackson’s interview with Ed Bradley on ’60 Minutes’. “CBS News does not pay for interviews and did not pay Michael Jackson or anyone connected to him for this interview, directly or indirectly,” CBS News spokeswoman Marcy Erhard tells The New York Daily News. Jackson adviser Charles Koppelman also insisted the singer wasn’t paid any money at all for the interview. “The deal was the deal, there’s only one payment,” he said referring to the earlier entertainment contract.
