Celine Dion Recalls Magic Of Pope’s ‘Force’

Celine Dion spoke with The Las Vegas Review Journal about performing before the late Pope John Paul II on September 11, 1984. Dion said meeting and and touching the Pope “was like being in contact with heaven.” Dion’s husband Rene Angelil recalled, “He spoke to us in French. He blessed our families and wished Celine the best.” Celine was saddened by the Pope’s death but added: “He was so courageous. I think this is the message he leaves with us.” Read more.
