‘Who Do You Think You Are?’ is a new 13-part genealogical series in which well known Canadians go on a journey to discover their family history. It airs this fall on CBC Television, launching Thursday, October 11 at 7:30pm. Chantal Kreviazuk is one of the thirteen stars who took part and blogged about it at Myspace. “I was moved to tears on several occasions already in this process,” she writes. “Learning about what my grandparents and my great grandparents went through, to try to make a decent life for themselves… only to get to the promise land Canada, and endure more disparity and struggle… essentially their dream to make life easier did not come until a few generations later, for me… and I was so humbled by this. Never in my life have I believed more that all that we are has everything to do with where and when we are born. Our circumstances play such a massive role in who we are, who we become, and essentially what our opportunities are in general.” Read more.
