Billboard reports has issued the following statement on Tuesday (July 10): “I would like to apologize for any misconceptions concerning , which may have resulted from statements I made in my interview with Performing Songwriter Magazine. It was not my intention to call Avril’s songwriting ability or ethics into question. My statements and any inference from my statements, which call into question Avril’s ethics or ability as a respected and acclaimed songwriter, should be disregarded and are retracted. Avril is an accomplished songwriter and it has been my privilege to work with her.”

July 11, 2007 – Carson Daly joked during his ‘Last Call’ monologue on Tuesday night, “I just got back from New York. I was helping out with the Live Earth concerts this weekend. Great concerts for a great cause. Save the planet. Incredible music, over 150 bands were playing, all 7 continents. Madonna played. Alicia Keys, Beastie Boys. July 10, 2007 – Avril Lavigne is again facing questions about a song off her new album ‘The Best Damn Thing’ sounding a lot like someone else’s work. One of Avril’s chief antagonists, Perez Hilton, says the track ‘I Don’t Have To Try’ has some similarities to the Peaches track ‘I’m The Kinda’, off her album ‘Fatherfu**er’.     i can’t believe she said that about her. and I don’t really blame her, because I like her old music better. if she would just go back to he rold music then I’d be happier. I don’t mean to be mean, but her new music sux. so avril, go back to your music and I might buy some of your cds. see ya
