Cheryl Cole’s UK ‘X Factor’ Days Could Be Over

As Nicole Scherzinger stands in for on ‘The X Factor’ Boot Camp, a source tells the Daily Star that the Girls Aloud star may not return to the UK version of the show. Instead, Cheryl would continue to recover from malaria and then transition to being a judge on the U.S. version of ‘X Factor’ when it begins the fall of 2011 on FOX. “Cheryl is still frail and has no idea when she will be strong enough to come back to work,” the insider explained. “She also needs to find time to promote her music worldwide, so something had to give – and that looks likely to be her spot on the UK show. Cheryl may be a huge star in Britain but no one really knows who she is in America. She’s determined to make it big on the other side of the Atlantic and she knows she needs a lot of help. A judging seat on the American ‘X Factor’ is just too good an opportunity to miss out on. Simon Cowell has all but promised her the gig and she’d be mad to pass up the opportunity.” Read more.

That could be interesting. Wonder if Nicole would be Cheryl’s permanent replacement on the UK version if that happened?
