After a claim in News of the World that Cheryl Tweedy would be quitting Girls Aloud, the girl group’s official website denied the claim. “There was a story in Sunday’s News Of The World about Cheryl leaving Girls Aloud,” the statement read. “Please do not worry, Cheryl won’t be quitting the group and asked us to give you the following message: ‘The story in the News of The World is absolute rubbish. I would never leave the Girls. I don’t know why people make these silly stories up. We’ve already started out 3rd album and there is going to be an amazing new single sooner than you think – PS, it’s not a cover’.”
