Christina Aguilera No Longer Britney Spears’ Shadow

A lot of people make the comment that Christina Aguilera is in the shadow of her supposedly bigger and better rival Britney Spears. But those days are over, Christina’s album sales are miles ahead of Britney. I believe that Britney’s albums sales are somewhere around the 28 million mark maybe 30 with the 2 million copies of ‘In The Zone’ sold. I think she sold 13 million of her debut album, 10 million with ‘Oops…’, 5 million with ‘Britney’, and currently 2 million with ‘In The Zone’. Those figures are really good. But her shadow has surpassed 40 million total album sales. I know people will not believe this so I will break it down for you. ‘Christina Aguilera’ was certified 8x platinum in the US, 5x in Canada, and platinum in the following places: Australia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Spain, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Korea, and Taiwan. In these places she was certified gold for the same album: UK, France, Ireland, Switzerland, Venezuela, Malaysia, South Africa, and Indonesia. Those all combined total to 26 million. Then her Spanish language effort ‘Mi Reflejo’ and the Christmas CD ‘My Kind of Christmas’ both of which sold 3 million copies. So now her total is 32 million albums, and then the album many refer to as a flop, ‘Stripped’. This album has sold 8 million copies worldwide and give her a total of 40 million albums sold. So who is in whose shadow?

Sorry, as Maria said, WRONG!!! Britney has now sold over 84 million reccords internationally. Way over “her shadow”. Hence, Christina is still her shadow….
