Syndicated columnist Liz Smith spoke with Christina Aguilera at a press junket for her new movie ‘Shark Tale’, where she had a political message ahead of the November 2nd presidential elections in the U.S. “Fifty million women didn’t vote in the last election. Can you believe that,” Aguilera asked. “I mean, women had to fight for the right to vote, and now they don’t? I think that’s just disrespectful. It’s every American’s right and duty to get out there and vote.” As for why she was one of those fifty million in the 2000 election, Aguilera admitted, “Four years ago, just as I came to voting age, I was too caught up in my career, and I didn’t vote.”
