Therese Owen of Tonight caught up with Christina Aguilera and asked the singer if she was be going to a township on her visit to South Africa. “Um, a township? What’s that,” Aguilera asked. When the singer was pointed out that Soweto is the most famous township, she responded, “Hmm, Soweto, yeah, I’m going to Soweto. Is that how you say it So-whe-toe?” Yes, Owen responded. “Yeah, I’m going there to support the African Children’s Feeding Scheme,” Christina said.
