Christina Aguilera’s Mother Proud As Her Music Inspires Fan
A male fan on Christina Aguilera’s Xposed forum posted a message to Christina’s mother Shelly Kearns thanking Christina because she “inspired me to just be myself and not worry about other people’s opinions.” The fan added, “Because of Christina’s music, I have been able to get myself out of abusive relationships, found ways to escape a sometimes abusive family, and I was able to come out to my friends.” Kearns responded and promised to relay the message to Christina and said, “It is people like you that touch her heart, because you write in and share exactly what she’s been praying for–that her music actually is touching people and helping to open people’s minds and help victims of small minded, fear-filled, cruel people. She told me at the beginning of writing the Stripped album that she didn’t care if she sold only one or two copies, as long as she could honestly express herself, her experiences & her message to people in the hopes that what she learned could help someone.”
