Clay Aiken And J.Lo Win AMAs
From ‘American Idol’ runner-up to ‘American Music Awards, winner, Clay Aiken won an American Music Award in the Fans’ Choice category on Sunday night. Aiken said in his acceptance speech, “I’m not really used to winning anything here. I’m used to second place. Wow, I have been amazed over the past five months at the support of some of the most amazing fans in the country. [Cheers and applause] I could not have asked for a more supportive group of people and I thank all of the fans so much for putting me here today. And this opportunity and giving me this opportunity, thank you to Clive Davis and Simon Fuller, Vanessa, and John and my mom and everybody, thank you so much, especially to the fans and thank you God so much for this opportunity.” Later in the broadcast, Jennifer Lopez won Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist. Lionel Richie and Paula Abdul accepted on J.Lo’s behalf.
